BACKGROUND:

The Prince Hall Freemason and Eastern Star Charitable Foundation, Incorporated (PHFESCF) was established in 1987 in the District of Columbia.

The membership of the PHFESCF consists of the warranted organizations such as the Masonic Lodges and Order of the Eastern Star Chapters that fall under the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia (established in 1848).

MISSION:

The Prince Hall Freemason and Eastern Star Charitable Foundation, District of Columbia, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization established to promote and administer programs designated to serve the District of Columbia community through the charitable works and endowments of the Prince Hall Family. This is achieved through facilitating and consolidating the charitable works of member organizations; promoting and administering scholarships and educational assistance to deserving students.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:

The corporate functions are conducted and managed by the PHFESCF Board of Directors. The Executive Members of the Board of Directors include the Chairman, Vice Chairman, President and Vice President. In addition, there are 13 Directors who are elected by the Membership to serve terms of 3 years.

OBJECTIVES:

The objectives of the PHFESCF are:

* Provide an efficient organizational management system
* Ensure sound financial operations
* Establish and promote membership services
* Coordinate, sponsor, and facilitate community services
* Maintain the PHFESCF facilities located at 1000 U Street N.W., Washington DC
