MWGM MacKinnon W. Myers, Dean

December 10, 2010 MacKinnon W. Myers was elected the 78th Most Worshipful Grand Master (MWGM) of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia.

The Honorable MacKinnon W. Myers is a native of Prince Frederick Maryland. He was born June 27, 1948, the eldest son of Alvin Wesley and Sarah Elizabeth Myers. MWGM Myers was educated in the public school system of Calvert County. During his formative years he attended William Sampson Brooks High School in Prince Frederick, Maryland

where he excelled in Science and Sports. He attended Morgan State University where he majored in Biology and received his first Bachelors of Science degree. He then drafted into the United States Army, serving his country from 1970-72. MWGM Myers’ service was very unique as he served simultaneously during the same time period with his three brothers. Brother Myers returned to college upon honorable discharge from the US military earning a second Science degree, this time majoring in Mortuary Science at the University of the District of Columbia.

MWGM Myers has more than 30 years of experience in the Law Enforcement. During his Law Enforcement Career MWGM Myers distinguished himself as a leader in his class and was honored to be trained at the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy. During his Law Enforcement Career MWGM Myers distinguished himself as a leader in his class and was honored to be trained at the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy. He also authored the U. S. Department of Defense After Action Report on the Terrorist Attack on the Pentagon which occurred September 11, 2001.

Brother Myers was raised a Master Mason in Warren Lodge No. 8 and in 1997 was elected and served his Lodge as Worshipful Master. His Masonic Affiliation include member of Mecca Temple No. 10 AEAONMS, Commanders of the Rite, Jonathan Davis Consistory No. 1, Keystone Chapter No. 11 HRAM, Gethsemane Chapter No. 16. His original affiliation in the Order of the Eastern Star however was with Thrift Chapter No. 12.
