Dear Prince Hall Masonic Family:
Calling all law enforcement and first responders who are members of the Prince Hall Masonic family within the Jurisdiction of the District of Columbia!
Please join us in a celebration to show our appreciation for you, and our local law enforcement and first responders whose commitment is to demonstrate the willingness to risk their lives to protect the citizens of the District of Columbia. This email and flyer is to invite you to our Law Enforcement and First Responders Appreciation Breakfast. The celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 9:00 AM, in the Masonic Temple’s Center for the Performing Arts,1000 U Street, NW Washington, DC 20001.
This year’s theme is ‘Our Heroes Our Community’. These brave, proud workers create the foundation, the roots from which our communities grow. Rooted means: firmly implanted; which means it is not moved or separated without struggle. The deeper the root grows, the harder it is to uproot, and the greater the impact for the community. MWPHGLDC is dedicated to empowering and uplifting our community, and to making the communities a better place to live respectively through service.
We live in a time when the societal spotlight is often focused on the ‘reality stars’, when in actuality, the real stars of our community are law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and armed forces personnel that work tirelessly to ensure the safety of our community. While the individuals in these professions may be accustomed to working without a lot of fanfare, your sacrifices have not gone unnoticed. In an effort to publicly acknowledge some of the true champions within our community, the MWPHGLDC will recognize some of the unsung heroes that help fortify our great neighborhoods. Honoring Our Heroes is our way of saying thank you for your service.
Your life is an example of the allegiance made to the citizens in our community, and it is a testament to the impact that a deeply rooted person can have on a society. You are encouraged wear your uniform to this celebration and we are looking forward to your attendance. Please feel free to share this with your comrades on the force as well. We are expecting all aspects of leaders from the District to attend.
